A user asked how to get a custom report built for ControlUp Edge DX, a report that shows the total time a computer has an active session in a week. Tom provided links to relevant reports and discussed EU laws and active time recording. Filters can also be put in place to prevent "cheating the system", such as time-keeping utilities like Caffine.exe.

How do I get a custom report built for EdgeDX? We have a requirement in Australia to monitor the number of hours an employee is working, and as a starting point our Payroll team would like to know how many hours a user has been at their computer. Is it possible to get a weekly report on how long a computer has an active session?
I think this was just discussed in the thread right above this one. Tom put in some links
Might need to do some research into which index the data is in
ohh that’s a tough HR department
That’s an assumption you make. Maybe it’s to protect the employee
In other words: to ensure that the employee doesn’t work too much. Know of some European countries that have laws around that as well
End User Activity does just this. Have you enabled it? It only records active time.
Probably more accurate number of being “active”
Lol, over 5 hours for me today and that was even with having surgery. BTW you can filter out junk utilities that keeps sessions “active” like caffine.exe so users can’t cheat the system.
