A user asked about setting up an Azure integration and using the same app/service principal for Azure SAML auth. It was suggested to keep an eye on Rate Limits and use multiple SPN’s to split requests and maintain uninterrupted service. This can be tracked in 8.8 using Subscription columns AZ % Rate Limit Usage, AZ Retries (Past Hour), AZ AIP Stats and AZ & AIP Variance. Full instructions can be found at https://support.controlup.com/docs/en/azure-integration-load-balancer-statistics?highlight=aip#introducion.

I’m working with our Azure team to get our Azure integration setup. The docs say we need an app\service principal created. Can I use the same application we use for our Azure SAML auth?
what do you think @member?
@member you can yes, but I recommend you keep an eye on Rate Limits, this is something you can track yourself in 8.8 using the Subscription columns AZ % Rate Limit Usage and AZ Retries (Past Hour). Azure will generate a retry if we are breaching the rate limits, so the two will give you the full picture.
In 8.8 to work around Rate Limits we also support using multiple SPN’s, this splits the requests we generate and allows for uninterrupted service. To track the balance for multiple credentials extra columns for the Subscription called AZ AIP Stats and AZ & AIP Variance can be used. AIP is Azure Identity Pool, an internal name we use to reflect multiple credentials.
Perfect, thank you very much!
