How to resolve discrepancy in the ‘log off session via script’ community script between User 1 and User 2 in ControlUp?

Two users noticed that a "Log off session via script" action was not working as expected, and discussed ways to troubleshoot the issue. They suggested that one user clear their ControlUp AppData directory or rename the ControlUp Store.xml file before relaunching to do this safely. The other user asked if there was an easier way to find out why the trigger was stopped working, and both suggested checking the event logs on the monitor for related event ID 5000/5005. Support ticket could also be launched if troubleshooting does not reveal the cause.

Missing “Client Device Score” icon in ControlUp Solve?

Members discussed the issue of not seeing Client Device Score in ControlUp Solve, and why metrics like Client Wi-Fi Signal, Lan Latency, Total Session Latency, and Internet Latency indicate the score. They concluded that Remote DX must be installed on the endpoints and the registry values need to be deployed. Members also noted that 3rd party software can be tricky with virtual channels, and that the default MSTSC rdp client should be used. Support ticket can be created at support@controlup.com.

Triggering ControlUp Automation with Scoutbees Alerts

A user asked if an alert from Scoutbees can trigger a ControlUp automated action. It was suggested to run scripts using ControlUp Automation to interact with Scoutbees. An idea was proposed to create an error log in the events, and for ControlUp RealTime to trigger an automation from that event. Additionally, writing a script to either put the server into maintenance mode or reboot was considered. ControlUp RealTime currently only has the ability to execute native actions through PowerShell commandlets and the follow up actions can call web hooks.

Anyone experienced logon issues with Crowdstrike on their VDI?

A user asked about logon issues with CrowdStrike on VDI, especially Citrix. A client has experienced issues on Horizon VDI before, and the current user is seeing slow logon times. Potential solutions include running an analyze logon script, disabling CrowdStrike and improving performance from VMware DEM Manager.

Investigating Unreachable ControlUp Agent VMs

This user asked for advice on the issue of VM's becoming unreachable due to Horizon Agent issues, experiencing freezing applications and an inability to console or access the machine once it has reached this state. Causes such as port exhaustion and DNS issues were discussed, as well as suggestions on how to access the system and application log files, and to generate an OS crash dump. It was also suggested to review reassess the configuration and consult other Horizon tech communities. How to allow scripts / commands to work in ControlUp Edge DX?

A user inquired about needing to do something special to allow scripts/commands to work in ControlUp's Edge DX. It was suggested to move the question to the 'Controlup-edge-dx' channel, and a support worker offered to check in with the scheduled engineer. It was then revealed that the issue was related to solve actions instead of Edge DX, and the discussion was moved to the relevant channel.

Finding Multiple User Sessions for a Specific Application in ControlUp

A user asked for the best way to see which users are running multiple sessions of the same application. It was suggested to use the "published application usage details report" or the "Session - Activity" report, and to further narrow down the required data, use PowerShell API. It was also mentioned that the result needs to be run on a monitor.
