ControlUp Devices page become super slow to load and be able to interact with?

Posted on March 29, 2023

Users were experiencing slow load times when interacting with the Devices page, and believed it was due to seeing too many devices at once being set at 100. It was suggested to switch to 10 or 20 devices to improve responsiveness, however this was previously set up to 50 devices without issues. Coincidentally, users also noticed the online column now had color shading, but this was unrelated, as this was due to different filters being set.

sorry if this has been covered already but recently has the Devices page become super slow to load and be able to interact with? it used to be pretty quick but in the past week or 2 i have to give it a couple of min before i can start to interact w/ anything. i have the same number of devices set to load as usual as far as i can tell

I think this is due to showing too many devices at once. I had it set to 100 and the tab would hang for a few minutes. Switched it down to 10 or 20 and appears to be more responsive when I load it.

right so we used to see that w/ 100 and have been fine w/ 50 for a while now so not sure why 50 now is too much

I agree. I don’t remember it ever getting hung up before in the past so I’m just as curious if there is a different fix other than limiting the number of devices being shown.

ya for us we did nothing different, didnt add a bunch of devices, etc. maybe a coincidence but once it started to be sluggish i noticed the online column now has some coloring behind it. i’m sure not related but noticed that at the same time

that shading appears to be when you set a filter actually but that didnt happen until recently as far as i recall
