A user is having trouble finding Skype on their PC when trying to update it using SecureDX. Other users suggested searching for lync.exe or skype in the C drive, but there were no executable files found. It is possible that the UWP version of Skype is causing the issue.

SecureDX is showing I need to update Skype on my PC, but the Control Panel doesn’t show Skype installed. Is there a way to determine what SecureDX is looking at when it shows a piece of software needs to be updated?
Is skype installed in the user profile?
I’ve looked around my user profile folder, but I don’t see Skype. When I type ‘skype’ from the start menu nothing is displayed to launch the app.
search C drive for skype or lync.exe
I didn’t find anything for lync.exe. I then searched for skype and it found filenames with the word ‘skype’ in it, but I don’t think they are executable files it found. Based on the filenames found it looked like it could be related to the UWP version of Skype. I’m wondering if SecureDX is finding bits of Skype that didn’t get removed when the application was uninstalled, and now it’s showing that my PC needs a Skype update.
UWP sounds plausible.
