Understanding the Difference Between ControlUp On-Prem and Cloud Versions

Posted on January 9, 2024

A question was asked about the difference between the on-prem and cloud versions of ControlUp, as well as the validity of the release notes. The company clarified that the on-prem version is based on the latest cloud version build and includes additional on-prem features. They also provided a link to dedicated on-prem release notes.

Hi everybody.

In https://support.controlup.com/v1/docs/on-premises-v88-ga-resources Version 1097 is linked as the most current on-prem version. The release notes refer to the cloud version. There I find the notes for version 1067. Is this always a slightly different version number or is there actually a difference between the on-prem and the cloud version?

Cc @member , maybe you can clarify later this week?

Hi @member

For now, you should expect a difference between the version numbers as

every on-prem version build is based on the latest cloud version build including additional on-prem features.

Okay. Thank you very much. So I now assume that the cloud release notes are the valid release notes version for on-prem 🙂

On-prem release notes contain the latest on-prem features and always refer to the relevant cloud RN

@member there are dedicated On-Prem release notes available:
