Does the Bandwidth Limit metric come from the Citrix EDT logic?

Posted on April 11, 2023

A question was asked about the Bandwidth Limit metric from the Citrix EDT logic - this is estimated by sending two packets of known size and measuring the time it takes to transmit them. The metric is measured in Mbps and it should not be lower than 1 or 2 Mbps as Citrix is nimble in its bandwidth consumption. Thanks to @member for clarifying.

How to Sign ControlUp Scripts

Posted on April 11, 2023

A user asked how to best sign ControlUp scripts - either through buying a code-signing certificate or using KB guidance. It was suggested that scripts be imported into the SBA using the import button, as they can be too big for copy/paste, and a GitHub link was shared for a script which could be used to sign PowerShell scripts using a code-signing certificate.

Why is My IOP Server Adding 3600s to the Login Time Since the Time Change?

Posted on April 7, 2023

A user asked about the impact of the recent time change in France on their IOP servers, with their login time being 3600s different. Following a procedure provided, they were informed that while it is possible to set the time zone, it wouldn't affect the logon duration. It was then suggested that this is an issue with the agent version, the 8.6.0.192, which should be updated. VSO 89643 on Userville was mentioned as addressing the daylight savings issue, though the portal is only available for on-prem customers. The user should also restart the agent for the changes to take effect.

How to fix messed up one of the data indexes, now opens to grey screen with no records

Posted on March 30, 2023

To solve the issue of a grey screen when trying to access a custom data index, it is suggested to delete the whole index and build a new Object with all separate items. The object should include `'NIC Name'` and `'ipconfig interfacealias='` properties, and have to work around `IPv4Address` and `DNSServer` which are arrays. Deleting the index will allow the agent to send data again, and regenerate the index.

Alternative Way to Check User Processes with ControlUp Triggers

Posted on March 30, 2023

A user suggested having a floating window with the processes of a user when the "Navigation to sessions/overview" is clicked, as a way to check for CPU, RAM, disk or network spikes when their "User Input Delay" exceeds a certain threshold. Another user suggested using the „dump views to disk” follow-up action in triggers as an alternative. This follow-up action can be used to select the views needed and create CSVs or XLS files for further investigation. Information about this can be found at https://support.controlup.com/docs/setting-up-triggers.

ControlUp Devices page become super slow to load and be able to interact with?

Posted on March 29, 2023

Users were experiencing slow load times when interacting with the Devices page, and believed it was due to seeing too many devices at once being set at 100. It was suggested to switch to 10 or 20 devices to improve responsiveness, however this was previously set up to 50 devices without issues. Coincidentally, users also noticed the online column now had color shading, but this was unrelated, as this was due to different filters being set.

Posted on March 29, 2023

It was also noted that in the upcoming release of 9.0, this feature of seeing free space for mapped drives and being able to alert on them would be available. Finally, it was suggested to remove "from this state" and check if the monitor had to be restarted.

The response was that ‘Incidents’ this is not possible, however ‘Events’ can be increased by increasing RAM, which will increase the console footprint.
