A user was trying to test the RemoteDX feature on Dell ThinOS to view WiFi Signal, SSID and Radio Type but was not getting any data. Landon suggested there was an issue with the ThinOS build and needed to be updated to support FreeBSD. The user was running build 2211 which is the first version to support ControlUp. To fix the bug the package needs to be updated.

Hey All! I’m new to testing out ControlUp, RemoteDX specifically, and so far amazing insight into VDI & client environment during my testing. I’m trying to test the RemoteDX feature to view the WiFi Signal, WiFi SSID, WiFi Radio Type, etc.. when viewing the session detail of Dell ThinOS but shows 0% or no data despite being connected wirelessly from a laptop. I have the required RemoteDX package on ThinOS and also running the appropriate firmware, 2211, so curious what I may be missing? Getting this data for remote WFH users is awesome feature and just trying to test out as I have a customer going down this path and I’m looking to learn more in my lab. Thanks for any tips! Disclosure: I’m an SE @ Dell.
There is a bug in the ThinOS build of RemoteDX and specifically WiFi.
Ah, got it, thanks Landon! I’ll sit tight till I see a fix otherwise great insights and features I’m learning about!
Out of curiosity is this the FreeBSD version?
This is just the standard Dell ThinOS version running build 2211 which is the first version to support ControlUp
Our devs found that it was using FreeBSD under the covers and the package needed to be updated to support it.
ok, got it, I’ll check internally for any updates.
