A user encountered a difference in result between running the 'Analyze Logon Duration' Script manually and as an automated action in ControlUp. Possible causes discussed include the monitor triggering it vs. the console, interpreation of the decimal seperator, and events triggered by Ivanti. Support suggested the customer open a ticket to investigate further and to mention this Slack thread. The ControlUp Agent version on the affected desktop was 8.6.5.427.

Implementation Questions for ControlUp in Corporate and Isolated Environments
A user asked questions about implementing ControlUp in a corporate and isolated environment. The answers explained that Monitors and Data Collectors don't need to be in the same domain, credentials can be used even without trust relationship, and port 40705 needs to be added. Professional Services from ControlUp can be sought for resolving automation issues in an environment with extensive security policies.

How does ControlUp calculate the current “Protocol Bandwidth Limit”?
The user asked about ControlUp's Protocol Bandwidth Limit measurement and how it is calculated. It was suggested that this measurement may change due to a CPU Readiness problem in VMware, as the guest OS has CPU demand but the host cannot satisfy the demand. It was also suggested to check the CO-stop (%CSTP), which is shown as CPU Excessive SMP Use in ControlUp on the VM level, as well as check for any snapshots present on the virtual machine that could increase %CSTP values and reduce virtual-machine performance.

Replacing a Weak SSL Certificate in ControlUp
A customer reported a weak SSL certificate from ControlUp (SHA1, wrong hostname, self-signed) and asked if any issues may surface when switching to a trusted, SHA256 certificate with the correct hostname. It was suggested that the certificate switch should work without any issues, but the current COP version, certificate name, and file were requested for confirmation. It was later established that the certificate deployed with Console, Monitor, and Agent was the culprit, and that the old certificate just needs to be replaced.

ControlUp Edge DX Licensing Reclaims and Behavior
A user asked about licensing reclaims and the expected behavior if all licenses were used up. It was confirmed that licenses are freed up when a device is removed from Edge, and the next device enrolled will not check in. If a device is mistakenly deleted, the agent will reregister when it polls again, initiated by the client.

Investigating Network Latency Issues in ControlUp
A user noticed that some of their devices experience a network latency with white spaces at different intervals and asked for clarification. It was determined that the ping was failing consistently every 40 minutes and that there could be a network issue (not VPN) related to communicating with a target Citrix public IP address. The user was instructed to open a support ticket and view raw data to determine if the numbers match. The graphs looked normal when checked.

Troubleshooting an Alert to Send Email When Free Space is Less Than 15GB
A user asked for help troubleshooting an alert to send an email when free space on a disk is less than 15GB. The user found that the alert only fired after restarting the monitor or agent. After further investigation and advice from another member, the user learned that triggering the alert requires the free space to cross the threshold from a greater to lower value, and that creating a series of triggers at each threshold is necessary to ensure that alerts are triggered as needed.

Running a ControlUp Automated Action fails with EventID 5005
A user experienced an error when running an automated action with EventID 5005 due to UAC being enabled. The user then ran the action as a specific user that had rights to start VMs in vCentral, and it was suggested that the action could be run from a Monitor server instead. Any logs can be shared by opening a ticket or in private with support. ControlUp has a log4net script action available to investigate this issue further. The registry key EnableLUA will be read if the script is set to "controlup console/monitor".

Clarifying ControlUp Edge DX and Remote DX Use Cases
Paul asked for clarification between ControlUp Edge DX and Remote DX and their use cases. EdgeDX is a standalone agent and RemoteDX is a plugin to Citrix Workspace/Horizon Client. Paul wants to get data from sessions, and tested with Mac, where EdgeDX data was visible but not data was visible in session views. RemoteDX was installed but did not show data in the session view. Further testing and a ticket may be necessary. More information on the Virtual Channel configuration can be found at https://support.controlup.com/docs/remote-dx-known-issues.

How to Install Edge DX on macOS with WSS Agent
James suggested adding Edge DX application paths to an executable bypass list in order to communicate with the tenant correctly when Symantec WSS Agent or a similar web content/ proxy agent is installed on macOS. The application paths are usr/local/com.controlup.edgedx.agent, usr/local/com.controlup.edgedx.agentmanager, and /Volumes/ControlUp Edge DX. Support for tunneling URLs needed for the Agent Manager is not available on macOS.
