A user asked if they can use ControlUp to monitor RDSH sessions and reboot sessions or Thin Client devices if necessary. Kursten suggested to add the RDSH hosts to the console and set up a trigger with a filter for the logoff script action, and said Thin Client devices could be done via Edge DX. They pointed to the ControlUp Academy for recommended training and to a Use Case for instructions on creating a trigger. Kursten also suggested looking into IGEL ThinClients, which have a post session command to "reboot". The Academy link can be found at https://cuacademy.controlup.com/.

Using Automation to Assign Dynamic Groups in ControlUp
It is currently only possible to automatically assign Dynamic Groups during installation of the Windows Agent, but there may be a similar possibility for Linux using the upcoming IGEL OS12 agent. Alternatively, API calls and scripts can be used to assign dynamic groups. UserVoice item https://controlup.uservoice.com/redirect/suggestions/46944511 has been created for this.

How to Set / Override the Controlup Edge DX Location Manually
A user asked about manually setting the Controlup EdgeX location. It is possible to override the location using the IP address and a script is provided to check the IP address against known subnets and their corresponding locations. Locations must be set on the tenant side and must be in valid JSON with the property "LocationsByIpRange". ControlUp does not offer specific documentation for this feature. The script and full JSON example are included in the discussion.

ControlUp Agent and Remote DX Installation on an On-Premise Environment
A user asked about installing the ControlUp agent and Remote DX across an on-premise environment, with IGEL and Windows PCs as clients. In order to control both from the console, version 8.8 and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Smart-X\ControlUp\Console\EnableAgentManagement set to 1 are required. The Remote DX should be installed via SCCM, as per Microsoft's policy. Full details can be found on the ControlUp Support Upgrade Guide, linked here: https://support.controlup.com/v1/docs/upgrade-guide-for-hybrid-cloud-8-x-to-8-8#upgrade-controlup-agents.

How to get the IGEL Device Name vs. the MAC Address with ControlUp Remote DX?
The user asked about how the naming of an IGEL thin client works, as it appears in the COP and in scripts. The network name had not been set, so it appeared differently in UMS and COP, and the scripts gave an error. By setting the Network Name, it should appear consistently across the platform.
