A user asked about showing devices without specific software installed and was informed that this cannot be done with a NOT statement in the Installed Applications data index. Instead, a workflow and data comparison must be used. It was also suggested to try using the CU AI tool, which is based on ElasticSearch. Another user asked about needing a CU One license for MCP server, and was informed that it is not necessary to use the free version of Claude desktop. The process for connecting the server and using it to search for not installed apps was also briefly explained. Relevant links were provided for documentation and a tutorial video.

Maybe a dumb question, but I want to show devices which are not containing specific software. For example: ‘give me a list of devices which have not installed Ivanti Application Control’.
I am using the Installed Applications data index.
It’s not a dumb question. The installed apps index is different then any other index because it is overwrite but it allows multiple lines per devices. This makes it that a NOT statement will not work. Because there is always a line that is true with the device id. So currently this has to be done with a workflow and compare data 🙁
Thxn @member! It is what it is. The workflow option is a good work around
Or you could try ask ai it should be able to query installed apps index 🙂
Good idea, it’s based on ElasticSearch, right?
Well it’s based on MCP tools but there is a tool for installed apps 🙂
Ah you mean the CU AI? We don’t have CU One unfortunately haha
Ahh ok 🙁
Ok so @member I have some good news I don’t think you need a One license for our MCP server
So just connect our mcp server to your LLM for example Claude desktop (even the free version) and then you can ask it to look for NOT installed apps

What the video doesn’t say is you need node.js installed but then it’s like a 3 minute setup
