A user asked about using the Trigger Export feature between different environments and GUID IDs. It was discovered that any organization-specific things need to be re-selected after importing, and the documentation team will document this further. The Trigger can display a yellow warning exclamation point if values are missing, and testing will be done to confirm this. ControlUp Stress Trigger template exports will be compared to validate.

hi guys, I am looking at the Trigger export feature, I was looking use it that u could tranfer Trigger between customers but notice many GUID ID’s . dose this stop the triggers going between customers.
I haven’t looked at this so far but most probably you need to reselect the folders etc when you import one. Let me check quickly
so I created a folder, selected that in the tree inside the trigger and after deleting folder & trigger it was empty after importing it. So anything that’s specific to an org need to be re-added. @member where you involved with this or do we need someone else to be a 100% sure?
Ok asked with the relevant PM and indeed all org specific things need to be re-selected as it doesn’t recognise the guids. I will work with the documentation team to get this documented.
cheers, makes it hard to use between different orgizations but can wrk with it
the most work often is in building the filter and that’s in there but yeah I understand the pain point.
i assume its the same with the template guid
suggestion for improvment is if guid dosn’t exist to revert to a default on or the top level guid for the ord
org
yeah template is the same as those can be custom as well can you get me the export for one with the ControlUp Stress Trigger template so we can at least compare the default ones ( only have access to 1 org at the moment as my lab is powered down)
I was told the GUIDs and folder names would be dropped when importing to another environment where those names do not exist. The Trigger would then display a yellow ! to show values were missing.
Wouter did some testing for me and i think that is so @member i going do some testing on that today
