Troubleshooting Connection Between ControlUp EUC and VMWare Horizon 8

A user asked for help connecting ControlUp EUC to their Connection servers after upgrading to Horizon 8 in VMWare environment. They have added the ControlUp servers to the lock.properties file on their connection servers, but still keep running into a 421 error. Other users suggest checking the upgraded CU agent on all data collectors and delivery controllers, as well as checking communication between the console server and connection servers. Horizon 8 version may also play a role in the issue.

After upgrading our VMWare environment to Horizon 8 we are no longer able to connect ControlUp EUC to our Connection servers. We have added the ControlUp servers to the lock.properties file on our connection servers but we still get a 421 error in ControlUp trying to connect to the EUC. Anyone ran into this and how to fix?


have u upgrarded the CU agent on the data collectors u have assigned in the UC node


yes agent on data collector is updated to latest from monitors


are the two EUC nodes using same data collectors


yes and both nodes are on the same Horizon version


Are they in different data centres or locations?

Have u updated the agent on all the delivery controllers


same location, different Vcenter

CU agent has been upgraded on everything except our connection servers

yes the CU agent has NOT been upgraded on the horizon connection servers


is both euc using different connection severs?

also do u have the same error in the monitor status?


Can you be more specific about which version of Horizon 8? Is it a relatively recent version?

8.11.0 build – 22629722

both EUC are using different connection servers, same software versions

no errors in the monitor status


Can u uninstall and reinstalled agent on conne tonight severs. Should not matter but just to rule out

Also check communicating between the console server and the connection srtvers

Not at PC but think it’s port 40706

As no errors on the monitors possible commination issue between console server and connection server
