A user is suggesting the functionality to export all filtered data from a Grid widget on ControlUp. Another user mentions that this requires a mechanism to load each page and combine them in a CSV using the API or Powershell. The idea of creating filters using other indexes is suggested, with the possibility of using Workflows or variables. The conversation ends with the mention of an update to ControlUp’s filters with 20+ built-in global filters and a new UI.

When doing a CSV export from a Grid widget, is it correct that it only exports the data that is shown and not all the filtered data (+100 rows).
Would be nice to use the grid view to extract data from an index but using data from another index as a filter as this is now possible with the larger array of global filters, as this is not possible using the normal custom reports in Devices
At the moment we are limited to exporting the 100 displayed rows of data
I can totally see the benefit of this. @member what do you think?
@member We have to look into this. The grid widget only gets the data per page it doesnt get the 10.000 records. Thats why the export is only the max rows 100. So this would need a mechanism to get each page and load it together in an CSV.. might also have some restrictions from the API / data side. I will look into it for now I think the best way might be using the API and gathering pages one by one with powershell
Also, creating filters using other indexes could be interesting.
Might be able to do something with Workflows, but would be nice to do this "in the fly" directly in dashboards
@member Yeah imagine ๐ but sadly thats not how our data work ๐ filters can only be applied on device filter level .. and thats only linked to the _devices index. But with variables you can do it ๐ as long as the tables have the same metrics
BUT and this is a big BUT the new data structure we are working on might bring changes in this and allows way more filter and combing data options
BTW we recently updated our filters and now have more then 20 build in global filters and this sunday it will get a new UI around it too ๐
Nice
