The team at ControlUp is moving from Okta to Entra ID for SAML authentication and is seeking advice on any potential issues with the migration process. An individual suggests considering the use of the native Entra ID Groups feature rather than SSO Groups for a smoother transition. The SAML configuration for Entra ID can be found in the ControlUp documentation. An account representative named Michael Thompson may be contacted for assistance, and ControlUp’s support team can also be reached for help.

All.. we are moving from okta to entra ID for Controlup SAML auth.. any gotchas we should be aware of for this migration? I understand Controlup only supports 1IDP. Thanks
I haven’t actually done a migration myself, but I think Entra ID is probably one of the most common SAML implementations. I’m using it as well. You might want to look into the native Entra ID Groups feature instead of SSO Groups (since you are making the switch, I would consider using that) https://support.controlup.com/docs/en/idp-connection-overview
Do you have a CSM you work with?
hmmm I think Michael Thompson.. account rep.. its been a bit.. let me check that link out..
The SAML config for Entra ID is somewhere else in the docs, let me see if I can find it quickly

Thanks… so this is one of the first apps we are moving from okta to Entra. Mostly because IT nerds are using the app and if we have trouble with the config its not a huge group that would be down. We will be in this mode where Okta will still be the primary federated source until all apps are moved.
Either your CSM can definitely guide you or you can open a ticket with support@controlup.com in case you need some assistance
Hey Ed, I’ll send you an email!
Thanks all!
