The user was trying to set up an Alert, but could not get desired results. Following advice from others, it was suggested to use "like" instead of "=" for anything Event_, set the event source as "cu agent" and make sure to collect the event. Changing "=" to "contains" did the job. For future reference, it was asked why "contains" should be used for event logs.

How to setup a ControlUp Trigger to alert if our cloud connectors lose connectivity?
The user was unsure if "0" meant "not connected" or "1" meant "connected" when setting up a trigger for cloud connectors in the ControlUp platform. The user was informed that by exporting the view in the realtime console, the CSV will contain numeric values for the column; connected = 1 and disconnected = 2. They can also check the Stress Level Dialog for other enumeration values. Dennis suggested adding a note regarding the values into the trigger dialog as well. The user agreed to look into this.

Antivirus Deleting ControlUp.exe
A customer reported an issue launching the latest ControlUp software ver. 8.7, with Symantec antivirus deleting the .exe file. It may be down to ControlUp's update of their 3rd party tool for obfuscation. It was suggested that the .exe file be uploaded to VirusTotal, to increase the number of customers who have seen it.

Creating ControlUp Triggers and Scheduled Reboots in ControlUp
The user asked for best practices when creating triggers in ControlUp and shared their own "findme" trigger for testing automated actions. This trigger is based on an active application title and can be used to fire the trigger when needed. They then covered the use of scheduled triggers for reboot schedules, with examples and providing a filter example with regex. Finally, a trigger for Wi-Fi signal strength, with an example of a created toast notification, was mentioned. Trigger Packs from ControlUp were also included in the post. ControlUp Delegated Permission Configuration for Automation and Triggers
The user suggested delegation of permission for automation and triggering of ControlUp resources. This is a current feature request, but there is no ETA at the moment. Looking at the Security Policy in ControlUp 8.6.5, it's possible to create a new role with a selection of permissions and per script, define the folder role that can run different scripts. The user was also looking for a read-only option for incident triggers and hoped it would be available soon.

Developments in Windows Services Monitoring Coming with ControlUp 8.8
A discussion took place about upcoming developments in Windows Services Monitoring. This feature is expected to be available in ControlUp's 8.8 version in Q1 of 2023. There is also anticipated FSLogix integration with Windows 2019. Services will be a big improvement for users who have done a lot of scripting for services in the past.

How to Track Disk Space Trend Analysis in ControlUp Real-Time DX?
A user asked if there was a way to track disk space trend analysis. The feature was well-received and the team suggested adding a “free disk space” chart to their Machine Trends report. They also discussed adding it to the Sizing Recommendations report, since the Streaming Project will impact the current metrics they were planning to include. The Streaming Demo was held recently and it was decided that the project would fit well with existing historical PVS & GPU metrics.
