A user asked about the possibility of testing application functionality with Synthetic monitoring, specifically for Citrix-delivered apps. Currently, the EUC test only checks the session itself and there is a web transactions test for SaaS apps. However, application functionality testing is not yet included in synthetic monitoring, specifically for Citrix-delivered apps.

Hi, is there any possibility to test a application functionality with Synthetic monitoring ? for example : if i want to test a module > login to Citrix > Launch App [Service account] > login to the app [app credentials] > open a report and check if it has latest date time frame on it?
Currently the EUC test only tests the session itself, and logoff after. There’s no capability to launch and app inside the session and test that. We do have a web transactions test that can test SaaS apps with multiple steps, but that’s not the use case you describe I believe
Thank you. One of the application analysts requested this as part of their daily sanity check to ensure the application is functioning properly first thing in the morning [daily routine task]. However, it seems that testing the application’s functionality is not yet included in the synthetic monitoring.
Not for Citrix/VDI delivered applications, correct
For a Citrix delivered app. Like Intuit lacerte app.gateway login> App launch > login > test the module > logout. As of now Synthetic does gateway login > launch > logout.
Correct
