A user encountered the error "Install .NET FW 4.8 on the target machine" and found it was due to a conflict between 8.7 and 8.8. The user needed to remove some .NET patches and run the console with an admin account on the monitor server. After upgrading the agent, the error was resolved. There was also an issue with scripts, which was fixed after upgrading the agent. It was mentioned that the 8.7 Realtime console was liked.

Just moving this here, from a different channel:
> I’m getting the following error when upgrading my monitors. “Install .NET FW 4.8 on the target machine” I’ve already install .net framework 4.8 on the target machine.

There was an issue with some dot net 4.8 versions if I am not mistaken but thought that was fixed in 8.7 or was that for 8.8 @member?
For the exe: the console exe can be used from anywhere but the monitor needs to be deployed from the console (we’re working on changing this through)
afaik 8.7 looks for:
> (releaseKey == 528449 ) || (releaseKey == 528372 ) || (releaseKey == 528040 ) || (releaseKey == 528049)
where 8.8 looks for:
> releaseKey >= 528040
So the fix is for 8.8 indeed, you might need to temporarily remove some .Net patch
I was able to upgrade it. I was able to run it by running the console directly from the monitor server using my Admin account.
You’re right. I’m pretty sure fixed for next version as we got this right before the finding
What’s the release key on the machine? Monitor
Click on more details on a monitor… let’s see why it’s crying
I’m not getting any more errors in upgrading. I was able to run it with my admin account on the monitor server.
I’m getting this error now though.
I don’t have data collectors in my environment just monitors.
Right click the connection and go to properties, what do u have under the data collector tab?
The agents in those machines are also data collectors. You’ll need to upgrade them
ok thanks.
@member u can delete the images here if u want. To hide machine names /euc connection etc. idk… I’m a bit privacy oriented
done.
I’m seeing a strange issue with scripts. I’m not seeing scripts when I go to execute a script manually. I see it under org scripts and I gave local admins, controlup admins and monitors permission to run it. Update: started working once I upgraded the agent on the monitors.
Thanks for the help.
Loving the new 8.7 Realtime console.
