Understanding ControlUp Solve and its Integration into DEX

Posted on November 7, 2025

A user asked if ControlUp Solve was a separate module or a part of ControlUp for desktop, and was informed that it has been merged into the DEX interface. They were reassured that the use cases they found on the ControlUp website are still applicable, and a member of the ControlUp team offered to help determine feasibility and next steps for achieving them.

Read the entire ‘Understanding ControlUp Solve and its Integration into DEX’ thread below:

Hi Team

ControlUp solve is some other module/console or it is also a part of ControlUp for desktop

Solve was the product/feature name for the web interface for the VDI product.

The name Solve is no longer used as the web interface was merged into the DEX interface.

So no. It is not part of ControlUp for Desktops.

We have few usecases from ControlUp site

and it has steps to navigate the data.

Could you please help me, if those usecases are doable using ControlUp for Desktop

where you read solve you can read the vdi bit in dex

Wow, @member – these are some VERY well organized use cases/details! I’ve tagged in your CSM, @member, who can help you out with determining feasibility, prioritization, and then getting things rolling with achieving these!

Hi @member, thanks for sharing these. Great list of use cases. Yes, what used to be called ControlUp Solve is now integrated into DEX. So when you see Solve mentioned in older documentation, you can typically map those use cases to the VDI section within DEX (like @member showed in the screenshot).

I’ll reach out to you directly so we can go through these together and figure out which ones apply to ControlUp for Desktops and get clarity on next steps.
