Upcoming Feature: Improved Sizing Recommendations in ControlUp

Posted on January 30, 2026

The "Sizing Recommendations" report is currently using the past 30 days of data, showing usage even during inactive hours. A user suggested implementing an option for only tracking business/active hours to accurately size machines. Another user stated that this feature is upcoming and development and testing have already finished, and deferred to a third member’s knowledge on the release date.

Read the entire ‘Upcoming Feature: Improved Sizing Recommendations in ControlUp’ thread below:

The "Sizing Recommendations" report, this still shows 24×7 usage correct? I thought it was going to be fixed/give us the option so it only looked at business/active hours. It would be great if this was the case so we could see if a machine is truly right sized based on when it is being used, not the other 16 hours of the day when it is not in use (VDI for example)

@member do you know anything on this or could you find out?

What the report is doing is using past 30 days. so for each day it shows the average CPU % for example. If I look deeper, the 8 hours a user was using the machien the CPU was above 80%. when it was idle for 16 hours the CPU was 9%. So then it averages that day and says CPU usage was 19%, hey everything looks great! When in reality it is not the case.

So either have the ability to select "business hours" for the report to track, or only look at time when there is an "active" sessions. just brainstorming

I believe this is still locked behind a feature flag though. @member or @member, right?

This is indeed an upcoming feature. As far as I know it’s not yet released, development and testing actually finished somewhere last week from the looks of it. I’ll defer to @member wisdom as to when this is going to be released though.
