Users had been logged out of ControlUp mid-remote control session. A member suspected the issue may have been due to active session time out. ControlUp support suggested checking the Audit logs to see if this was the case. Some users also reported being logged out of other SAML-authenticated apps. A rogue tab or SAML/IDP provider may be the cause of the issue.

Hi Charles how long was the session before u got logged out?
I would imagine since this morning when I logged in – around 8 – 9 am?
I was actively using it before, then remoting on, was working on the device, went to type up on our ITSM tool then it logged me out when I went back on
just to confirm when you say logged out . Do u mean the remote connection disconnected? or was the active user session logged out?
if didsonnected how long was the remote connection active 2 min? 15 mins ? and hour?
I was logged out of CU
It wasn’t active for very long, around 5 – 10 mins?
Fully logged out of the DEX portal? "I was logged out of CU" ?
Got logged out of app.controlup.com
Assuming that’s the DEX portal?
yeah, thanks we would need a support ticket but two things u could checks
- possible it was ur active session time out – I think u might see this in the Audit logs

- SAML/IDP provider might have time you out. but we would need to check this via a support ticket
^^ timeouts\logouts can be problematic if you have a rogue tab opened with no action
also, ive found at times my MS credentials causing logout, especially at times when PIM roles are in effect or using other SaaS apps. its random and not super frequent – more time to research then to click refresh 🙂
Was likely the SAML IDP as I got logged out of other SAML-authenticated apps with the same identity.
