A user asked if there is a way to automatically install ControlUp agents on Azure virtual machines. There has been discussion about this for specific Citrix environments, but the user was wondering about Azure. Another user shared a guide from the ControlUp knowledge base on deploying the MSI version of the agent. However, it was noted that using the MSI option may not automatically remove a virtual machine from the Console if the agent is uninstalled. In order for the deployment to work from the Console, certain ports may need to be unblocked. A link to the knowledge base article was also provided.

Hi Wouter, Thanks for ur reply! In the past we were running to some issue were it was not able to auto-update the new Agent version becaus of the manual msi installtion from the control-up Console. Do u know if we use the MSI install option if it will automatically remove the VM from the console if the agent is removed on the VM?
when the msi is uninstalled the console has no idea of this and will just try to connect but not remove (this is the kb btw https://support.controlup.com/docs/en/connect-to-your-machines) for the deployment from the fat console you will need to open the high rpc port range and some others which might be blocked when going to Azure
