A new user asked about automating a report for VDI machines with a desktop load time greater than 2 minutes. Another user suggested using the Session Activity Report, or an API provided by ControlUp. ControlUp also offers training and resources through their Customer Success Hub in the product. More information is available in the blog post "Introducing the New ControlUp Customer Success Hub: Unlock the Full Potential of DEX Today!"

Hey there, I’m pretty new to Control up and I’ve been asked if we can use the Management Console or DEX to get an automated report of all VDI machines that have a Desktop Load time greater than 2 minutes setup as an automated report? I have seen the output of the DEX report and it did not contain user/machine names, and to be honest, it didn’t look too helpful.
Desktop load time is a session activity metric (since it’s related to login duration)
You will find a column in the Session activity report
Joel is just ahead of me session activity, filter on desktop load time and an automated report on that is what you want
or use the api to grab these things https://api.controlup.io/reference/getsessionsstatistics-1
After setting the filter, create an automated report
Wouter, does the export respect the filter?
I believe it should do that, if you want to use these exports in internal reporting or a different data system you could look into the api I mentioned. I know our innovation guild is also working on dashboards with the api data @member does your project have desktop load times in it (since it comes from hostorical data)
Hey Derek, so there’s various options. I think the UI report is the easiest. Here’s a quick interactive walk-through that shows where you can find things https://controlup.storylane.io/share/ti5prx81yvbk
Thanks! I was looking under the wrong area! I think I got it. You guys are great!!!
Excellent. Let us know if you have any other questions. And I’m not sure if you are familiar with our Academy curriculum but training and other resources are also accessible from your success hub in the product (more information in this blog https://www.controlup.com/resources/blog/introducing-the-new-controlup-customer-success-hub-unlock-the-full-potential-of-dex-today/)
Definitely going to take those courses, thanks!
