A user asked if two different ControlUp Deployments could be run on one machine. It is not possible, but when upgrading, the console, monitor, and agents can be updated separately. For a migration from an on-prem to a cloud environment, a registry key needs to be deleted. The Auth key and Organization key need to be cleared and set again. Alternatively, it is possible to keep the same org and change the mode to cloud.

Quick question – Can you run two different Control Up Deployments in the same environment – eg – can there be multiple control up agents on the same machine? looking to migrate a customer to a new ControlUp environment, but want to keep the old one up for as long as a possible.
Hey! It’s not possible to have more than one agent in the same device. I know, I tried lol
However, when upgrading you don’t need to upgrade all agents at the same time
You can upgrade the console, then the monitor and update the agents at your own time
Thanks Sivan! This would be a migration from a differently licensed (on prem) environment to a (newly licensed) Cloud. So, what I am hearing is I would need to uninstall agents from the existing console, and then deploy agents from the (new) console, which seems very reasonable.
Yea, pretty much, just keep in mind that the system may be a bit confused if you are trying to run the console on the same device an on-prem console version was on. You should contact support so they can walk you through it. There is a registry key that will need to be deleted if you are going to run it on the same device
No need to uninstall the agent, you need to remove a reg key and restart the agent

Auth key and there is also a key for the organization
Ok found them, clear them or reprogram them with the new?
Clear the bottom and set the Auth key
BUT you can also run the same org and just change to cloud mode
