A user asked about deploying the ControlUp Windows Agent and if the same install switches used for the Agent Manager would work with the standalone Windows Agent installer. It was clarified that with version control, the agent can be installed through the Agent Manager. The command line works the same with the standalone installer and documentation can be found on the ControlUp website. Version control can help with updating devices at sensitive bandwidth sites. Multiple deployment options are available. Links to documentation were also provided.

Question. Right now the normal way to deploy the ControlUp Windows Agent is through the Agent Manager. My understanding is that the Manager then pulls the agent software down on its own. There is also the option to download the Windows Agent installer directly at https://downloads.sip.controlup.com/sipagent2.17.5.6846.msi
If that is correct and you are in an environment where bandwidth is sensitive, will the same install switches that the Agent Manager uses also work with the standalone Windows Agent installer?
Hi @member the agent will only be download on its own if you are using version controls. Otherwise if you install the agent manager it will install the late rest version.
the Command line will work the same with MSI as you can see wit the intune documentation

Also note with version control you can spread out the updates that not all devices happen at once that can help with bandwidth sensitive sites.
🙂 we also try to give many different options

That is great. I will look into it.
