A user asked about the workload accompanying an ControlUp Edge DX deployment, which would involve approximately 1500 devices. Installation of the agent via MSI is easy, as Edge DX is a SaaS application with no additional infrastructure or firewall rules needed. ControlUp Academy has free Edge DX administrator courses. The deployment should take less than 2 hours, but it is recommended that 1/2 a day be assigned for safety. The ControlUp Academy course can be found at https://cuacademy.controlup.com/edgedx-info/.

Hey Guys, looking at our possible first ControlUp Edge DX deployment (approx. 1500 Devices) my boss asked to try determine the additional work load this this would our team. Is there any reference material on this lying around?
Easy deployment https://support.controlup.com/docs/edge-dx-agent-installation
Push the agent out via MSI
As Edge DX is a SaaS application you don’t need to install any additional infrastructure to support it.
It is pretty straight forward to install on the device as only single agent needs to be installed on the device and as traffic goes over standard HTTPS ports you usually don’t need to any additional firewall rules.
The interface is intuitive so most help desk people can get a basic understanding of it pretty quick. But the SE can walk them through some basic scenarios and we have more in-depth training on it.
Does this cover what you were asking? Of course our sales folks can give you more information about your particular situation.

BTW here is a link to the ControlUp Academy Edge DX admin course, which is free.
https://cuacademy.controlup.com/edgedx-info/i’ve do the deployment before in my lab this straight forward but I was more think of a day work load it will bring. how much time and effort in general dose it bring to a help desk
If I’m honest, we’ve had one of our strategic customers onboard 16,000 desktops in one sitting, it should take less than 2 hours if they’re new the the console. I would assign it for 1/2 a day though just to be safe @member
@member did they ever quantify the time managing the devices after the implementation
I’ll message you on the side
