A user reported that the AI agent only works with admin roles, and asked what could be causing this to happen. Another user responded that the AI can be enabled for other roles, but these roles must also have access to the necessary data. The affected user shared an example of a query that did not work for their non-admin role but did for an admin role, and asked for further help. Another user offered to check the data indexes and view index data, and another user confirmed that the environment did work with non-admin roles.

Hi all, the AI agent works only with users in admin role, with users in different roles no results are shown/found. What’s wrong?
Martin,
The Ask AI is only enabled by default to the Admin role, but as you probably already did, you can enable it for other roles.
Pleas enote: The users accessing ‘Ask AI’ will only have access to the data that their role allows, so, make sure you grant that role access to the data indexes and the device groups/tags you desire them to access via the Ask AI / AI Assistant feature
Interesting- I have not tested this
Hi Marcel, the affected user are member of a different role and this role has enabled all required features like Employees, Dashboards, Devices, VDI. So why can’t the AI find any content? Here I give you an example of a simple query with an affected user. The same query with an admin user lists several entries. Please see the images. What’s wrong?

@member please look into the read data indexes and view index data.
I 100% run the environment NOT as admin and Ask AI works and returns data

Hi Marcel, thanks for your information. The shown settings are activated at this role.
