Issues with Two Monitors Cycling after Upgrading to 9.0.5

Posted on December 11, 2024

A user opened a ticket but also asked for help in the Slack channel. They are having issues with two monitors cycling through connecting, logging in, and disconnecting after upgrading to 9.0.5. They have tried to run a network test and send a log, but did not find any issues. A link to the support article on creating monitor logs with Log4net was provided. The log file path for version 9.0.5 was also shared.

Read the entire ‘Issues with Two Monitors Cycling after Upgrading to 9.0.5’ thread below:

Opened a ticket for this but haven’t heard back yet. Figured it can’t hurt to check here as well in case someone also ran across this.

We upgraded our monitors and console to 9.0.5. One of our monitor servers is up and working, but the other two cycle through connecting, logging in, and disconnecting.

I’ve stopped and started the monitors, even tried to uninstall and reinstall on the two affected boxes but no luck.

I would suggest you try the following two steps to see if we can determine the issue.

  1. Run this PS command from the Healthy monitor and point to a monitor that is having an issue. where i input monitor would be the actual name.
  2. Test-NetConnection monitor.dns.name -port 40706
  3. Run the network tester from one of the monitors having an issue. everything should come up as OK

Thanks Clint.

Both tests came back ok. Appreciate it though. Cool tool.

hmmm interesting. The next step would be to send a log. You can send me the log via DM and I can take a look at it while you wait on support team.

9.0.5 log file path

C:\Program Files\Smart-X\ControlUpMonitor\Version 9.0.0.xxxx (filename is cumonitor.exe.log4net)

if file is not there then you can find it here

C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\NetworkService\AppData\Roaming\ControlUp: (filename is cumonitor.log)
