Users discussed methods to monitor connectivity and performance between different sites on the same network using ControlUp products. It was suggested to use the latency test feature with an on-prem hive to measure various aspects, such as network breaks. One user mentioned a customer who used custom hives at different points to gather more specific information on network breakage. The discussion also mentioned the desire for a feature similar to "RemoteDX Client Metrics" to measure latency between hops. The conclusion was that using custom hives is the best approach for this area of ControlUp.

Is there a method within Synthetic Monitoring (or any other ControlUp products) to monitor connectivity/performance between different sites on the same network? Maybe something that would measure various aspects between ControlUp data collectors that are located in geographically different data centers?
There is a latency test that you can pair with a on-prem hive to do those tests
Just beat me to it, Trentent! 😂
It would also tell you if there are network breaks along the way also
agreed, even had a customer plan to have a custom hive at every block of tables to very specific find info on network breakage
Latency between hops (similar to "RemoteDX Client Metrics") would be nice.
So, custom hive(s) is the way to go here? TBH, I haven’t had the need for much in this area of ControlUp.
