A user asked for clarification on how to set up triggers in the ControlUp DEX Alerts tab. Morning all, just wanted a sanity check that I’m not missing something simple. I’m having a look at the Alerts tab in DEX (Side note, also my dogs name so I can never say the name when I’m on a call with anyone) and getting them from my VDI/RT Console. The documentation just says to setup triggers, but what should be the action on the trigger? It doesn’t make it exactly clear. Anyone have an example trigger I could look at?

Hi @member, not 100% sure of the question so guide me in the right direction if i am going in the wrong direction .
"what should be the action on the trigger" when you say this are you talking about when is the Thresh or event that you are alerting on? or is it the action that you want to preform?
Hey Luke, I think its myself being confused tbh. Question is mostly – Is the simple act of creating a trigger enough to have it appear in the Events tab or do I need an action for this to happen?
For example, I have a trigger that sends me an email when a machine goes down during business hours. I get an email alert for this and I see it in the Incidents tab of RT Console. But nothing in DEX Events
Ahh ok now i get you. Yes the details in the incidents Tab in the Realtime console should show in the DEX events Section
The ControlUp Monitor responsible for collecting this data for VDI must be running version 9.1.5.313 or above. What version are you monitors on?

All monitors are on 9.1.5.406 so should be good on that front. Guessing there is nothing else I need to enable for it? All monitors are green and I see all my other usual VDI data

hey @member, a note on "Just to also note, I’ve had triggers setup for a long time and I do see them create incidents in the Incidents tab of RT Console", the new Alerts / Events tab in DEX (e.g. app.controlup.com) will only work if RTDX incidents DO appear in the old UI (as far as I know)
so need to fix this one first.. a support call can help
