Using SessionCreationDate as Trigger Condition for Reports in ControlUp
A user asked if there is a way to use SessionCreationDate as a trigger condition for a report. It was suggested to use Invoke-cuquery and toast popup instead, and a sample sba was pointed out as a resource to create Windows Events. The sample can be found in the ControlUp Community Library.

Grouping Enhancements Requested for ControlUp MSPs
An MSP suggested having enhanced grouping and separation for roles to help with organization. DEX (app.controlup.com) offers role based access controls with device groups. There is currently the ability to group in the main dashboard and command line install. The requested feature is for a single view to show customer devices separated by groups with headings, separators, or a tree structure like the VDI view.

Investigating Performance Issues in Citrix VDI with NVIDIA GRID GPU
A user reported strange performance differences between identical Citrix VDI machines with NVIDIA GRID GPU configured, all started from the same master. Though NVIDIA licensing and configuration was OK, some machines did not show a GPU in use. Other users suggested checking the ControlUp Agent delayed start setting and switching between native Microsoft APIs and NVIDIA metrics (https://support.controlup.com/docs/gpu-monitoring-with-controlup?highlight=gpu). They also recommended looking at known issues. The customer planned to investigate the issue further the next day.

Filtering Environment Assessment: Desktops or Servers?
A user asked if there is a way to filter the Environment Assessment to show desktops or servers. Reminiscent of the Legacy Insights interface, the new reports coming to Solve may not offer this either. The user asked @member to comment on the matter. Reducing Login Times with ControlUp
A discussion was had on reducing login times using Citrix Profile Management, group policies and folder redirection. AppX Load Packages and App/Desktop Icon clicked until ICA File Downloaded are taking up significant time. Server OS machines have faster AppX package loads than Client OS machines, indicating the possibility of using Server VDI. Running Scripts with Administrative Privileges Through an SBA
A user asked about running a script with administrative privileges through an SBA. It was confirmed that the SBA runs in the system context on the remote machine, so administrative rights should already exist. A workaround of utilizing scheduled tasks was suggested, however the user mentioned that this was too complicated to get through their security team, and proposed the option to use shared credentials. It was mentioned that shared credentials can be used while copying files and to utilize a service account with admin rights when performing software installations.

Troubleshooting Video Latency on Non-Persistent VM with ControlUp
A user asked about troubleshooting video latency on a non-persistent VM, and it was suggested to use User Session Details in Solve as the best starting point. If Remote DX was installed, they can also watch session relevant latency, CPU, RAM and other metrics in a single place. Script Action can be used for advanced data collection. The Network Latency graph may be legit, but there was a known issue with the Linux RDX plugin. A new beta version which fixes this issue will be available soon. After sifting through the data, 3.75GB of RAM usage was found - they will look at adjusting graphics settings with Horizon View.
