Members of ControlUp discussed the use of APIs in the company’s platform. Tips and suggestions were given for incorporating data into other systems and automating tasks. ITGlue, Rewst, and webhooks were also mentioned for further integration and customization.

Hey Everyone, anyone have any experience with the APIs with controlup. if so what ahve you been able to do with it?

@member i’m looking to understand if there are ways to use the data that is collected from devices (VDI or desktops) and push that into our documentation system (ITGlue) additionally, we don’t use ServiceNow we use Autotask so when alerts are created i would want to create tickets from those alerts in Autotask.
Lastly, i’m wondering if through our automation platform (Rewst) we would be able to create actions, scripts, etc on devices and sessions.
dose the tool (ITGlue) have web hooks that you could use?

Currently Rewst is not list as part of the workflows integrations but it is something that you can raise a user voice for it to be included
For Desktops you could also use a webhook

It (ITGlue) does have webhooks what it’s to send not receive, so it would be Rewst that would would be able to receive and then update ITGlue.

you might be able to cut out the middle man (Rewst) and do all the same automation from with the CU products a features,

and is ITGlue a web portal to access? if it is make sure you look at the Enrich plugin to bring the Controlup for desktop data and actions into the tool. real helps to empower the help desk
Luke i looked at the Workflows in CU but all my business logic is in Rewst already so to move to CU would be a MASSIVE lift.
Worth raising the UserVoice to see if you can get it integrated into workflows then. Might help with making the two products work better together

@member So does Enrich have the ability to be customized more. I would love to have the ability to pull an Iframe from somewhere or even create a button that does something (not scripts as it’s not a device function). But even if it’s a webhook.
Or more over i can show you a function i would like to see us being able to create where i can do password one click passthrough from my password vault in a remote session but it would be through enrich or however you want to do that.
