Understanding CVAD Disconnect Reasons in ControlUp and Citrix Director

Posted on August 22, 2025

The discussion focuses on the "CVAD Disconnect Reason" column under User Sessions in ControlUp’s web UI. The user has not seen any valuable metrics and another user asks what Citrix Director shows for that reason. It is mentioned that the latest 9.1 and upcoming 9.1.5 releases will have improved metrics for Citrix connection issues. The location of the "CVAD Disconnect Reason" in Citrix’s DaaS monitor is also discussed and a link to Citrix’s documentation on troubleshooting failure reasons is shared.

Under Users Sessions there is a column named "CVAD Disconnect Reason" has anyone ever seen a good metric there? I just see blanks and UNKNOWN.

we take the data direct from Citrix. what dose it show for the reason Citrix Director?

Latest 9.1 release and upcoming 9.1.5 will actually start collecting some new metrics that will provide better insights in Citrix connection issues. We’re planning to expose that data more effectively in a future release of the web UI

Where is DaaS monitor should I see this value?

Citrix Director (don’t have access to director to show location)

What do you mean exactly DE?

I don’t see any CVAD Disconnected Reason or similar in Citrix Monitor thats the cloud version of director. So a printscreen should solve my question.

might be this
