Hi everyone. I need to uninstall the ControlUp Windows agent from multiple computers. They’re not all running the same version, so what’s the best and easiest way to handle this?
what method or tool are u looking to use?
We’re using Tanium to deploy ControlUp, so I’m looking to use Tanium to uninstall it as well. I just need the uninstall string that will remove it regardless of the version installed.
let me check different versions

Our documentation provides this uninstall scripts
“`$Command = "c:\Windows\System32\msiexec.exe"
to fully uninstall Agent Manager
$Params = "/x {2AE0BDC4-26B3-4352-81EA-F4811B5B9B60} /norestart /qn"
$ParamsArray = $Params.Split(" ")
& "$Command" $ParamsArray
to fully uninstall SIP Agent
$Params = "/x {0EE8541E-2D9F-4382-820F-DE7B93F7ED53} /norestart /qn"
$ParamsArray = $Params.Split(" ")
& "$Command" $ParamsArray“`
Thank you. I had the first part, but the not the second. Now it makes sense why the endpoint is still checking in.
also note if version control is enabled if you only uninstall one of the agents that other will reinstall the one you removed
Uninstall Agent Manager – Agent will reinstall it
Uninstall Agent – Agent Manager will reinstall it
Oh, good to know.
Just to be sure I down graded the agent on e deice to make sure 0EE8541E-2D9F-4382-820F-DE7B93F7ED53 is the same for all versions
just didn’t want to assume
Thank you for that. Some installers change the MSI GUID with each version. Seems like ControlUp doesn’t do that, which makes creating a global uninstall possible.
we got smart developers 🙂
