A user asked what the system requirements are for the ControlUp Scoutbees Custom Hive, with 1 CPU and 16GB RAM or 2 vCPU and 8GB RAM suggested as possible options. It was suggested that a certain number of Citrix scouts can be supported by this configuration for reliable testing, although this could be impacted by the version of Citrix Receiver/Workspace used. Network scouts tend to be of light load.

Hi, does anyone know what the Custom Hive system requirements are? I can’t find them on the knowledgebase and couldn’t see any release notes in the hive install folder
I give 1 CPU and 16GB of ram depending on how many scouts u have, it can be high ram and tend to have the hive as a stand alone server
@member do we have this documented somewhere?
I use 2 vCPU and 8GB of RAM for custom hive (dedicated server). I found there is certain number of Citrix scouts this spec would support to ensure reliable testing in our environment. That was based some rough testing with early version of hive 3 years ago. The version of Citrix Receiver/Workspace can also have impact on resource utilization as multiple instances of them are running. Network scouts tend to be light load.
Can Scoutbees run on a Windows 10/11 OS? Say if a Customer has a bunch of warehouses and you want to have a scout run at each warehouse? I too couldn’t find the system requirements in the documentation. Haven’t had much time to get back to it.
Hey Shane, sorry for the delay. I ran most of my custom hives on a desktop Windows OS, so this should work.
@member can you confirm if this is officially supported?
