Where to Discuss ControlUp API Functionality?

Posted on February 19, 2026

The team discussed the best place to have a conversation about the CU API functionality – some suggested the automation and alerting or Scripts channels, others said it should go in the product channels depending on the specific API. Some thought it should be in the scripts channel, while others thought it would make more sense in the product channel. The importance of having a clear and easy-to-reference location for discussions on the API was emphasized. Some members pointed out that as more customers and partners begin using the API, there may be a greater need for a dedicated channel in the future.

Hi all, we don’t have a dedicated slack channel here for the CU API, where would be the best place to have a conversation about the API functionality of CU? maybe @member has an idea? 🙂

I think that usually in the automation and alerting or Scripts

depends on which specific api, there are api calls for most/all products so best to place it in the product channels

sounds leggit… i have problems with the VDI api

I agreed with both Luke and THEN Wouter.

This is the problem, where do you put things, I would say API goes in scripting as that is code and API is code. But, Wouter is right too, put it in the product channel. I guess I would say product channel as it is more about that product. Hence if you are talking VDI API, put it in CU for VDI. That makes sense…

What do you guys think? @member @member @member

it would make it easier for people to look back and reference

I can see it both ways. This is the problem. I would say the scripts channel is more help with scripts. if the api call is in the script then yes, if it is some other place then I could day in the products channel, but then you have it both places lol oh the horror….

how about? either… 😉 ooops 😞

I’d say if mcp and ai stuff kicks more in, you guys will probably have more customers consuming API and partners doin’ weird funky stuff…

just my two cents 💸
