A user needed help understanding where to find the "Initial Branch" setting in their activity report in ControlUp. It was recommended to configure the branch mapping via the ControlUp console settings page, as ControlUp looks at the initial Client IP of the user session to map the correct branch. It was discovered that the "Initial Branch" was set by a previous colleague’s test record. The settings page can be found at https://support.controlup.com/docs/branch-mapping.

Hello, I found in a session activity report that for some users from country B using a VPN laptop, the "Initial Branch" is mentioning "VPN country A".
I can’t figure out where this comes from. Where do you find this setting?
Thanks in advance, cheers,
you can configure branch mapping via the ControlUp console settings page – https://support.controlup.com/docs/branch-mapping
(we look on the initial Client IP of the user session, and based on this, map the correct branch)
Thanks for the quick answer. I had not checked the branch mapping settings as for me it was never configured… never trust… there was a test record set by a colleague… Cheers
