Someone asked about the frequency of the "client CPU" metric and whether it is an average. It is updating at 3 seconds, and there could be a bigger interval for seeing it in solve (up to 10 seconds). However, users may be seeing different values in their local task manager, and @member or @member could provide more details on this. It is possible that the stress levels in the configuration are set to average so the values change less often.

Looking for Script to check a device’s Event viewer for why a device will blue screen or BSOD
A user asked if anyone had a script to check the device Event Viewer for why a device will blue screen or BSOD. Wouter replied that although complicated, tools for BSOD Analysis may be found through a simple online search. Dennis mentioned that Windows Error Reporting (WER) may be used as a source of data, also providing a screenshot of a proof of concept script as an example. Eugene asked for clarification on whether or not a workflow can be created for alerts on BSODs.

Enhancing the ControlUp Dashboard with a Status Indicator of Last Result
A user suggested adding a status indicator of “last result” in the ControlUp dashboard page that would show which scouts are down. The possible implications of having multiple hives per scout were discussed; it was suggested that a single failed hive could be denoted with a red or orange indicator. The suggestion was motivated by a real life scenario of 40 sites with the same function, 10 of which were not responding and the user not having an overview of the working ones.

Using Automation to Assign Dynamic Groups in ControlUp
It is currently only possible to automatically assign Dynamic Groups during installation of the Windows Agent, but there may be a similar possibility for Linux using the upcoming IGEL OS12 agent. Alternatively, API calls and scripts can be used to assign dynamic groups. UserVoice item https://controlup.uservoice.com/redirect/suggestions/46944511 has been created for this.

ControlUp Agent Status Reports “Error” While Working Perfectly
A user asked about an issue with Instant Clone VMs; potential causes suggested included DNS resolution, firewall blocking, Agent not installed, or Agent not running. To find the exact error message, they need to look at 'Monitor Status' in the Console. It was then mentioned that if these VMs are not connecting to the Monitor, they will cause errors in Solve (missing historical data). Lastly, the user realized that the Agent may not be running.

Setting Alerts for Devices in ControlUp

Setting Up an Azure Integration with ControlUp
A user asked about setting up an Azure integration and using the same app/service principal for Azure SAML auth. It was suggested to keep an eye on Rate Limits and use multiple SPN's to split requests and maintain uninterrupted service. This can be tracked in 8.8 using Subscription columns AZ % Rate Limit Usage, AZ Retries (Past Hour), AZ AIP Stats and AZ & AIP Variance. Using Get-HVMachineSummary and Understanding HZ Assigned User in VMware Holirzon View on ControlUp
In Horizon View, the assigned user of VDIs is not showing in the Real-Time console, but there is a registry key that can be used to turn it back on. This was turned off by default due to a performance concern, but it is believed that the underlying issue has been addressed. In version 9 of the integration, assigned user can be retrieved without extra data. @member may have more insight on this. Use with caution.
