Configuring Triggers for Secure Browse Analysis in ControlUp

Posted on August 20, 2025

A discussion about configuring trigger for a Secure Browse Analysis was mentioned. The option to fire a script after the detection of specific events is currently available for the endpoint agent but not yet for the VDI/DAAS environment. Two ongoing projects, Workflows and the centralized Events feature, aim to simplify this process and will potentially allow for advanced alerts based on the collected data. @member stated that the first phase of the project, Events Management, is currently in beta and will eventually be able to turn incidents based on collections of events. A user expressed interest in trying out this feature after upgrading to the required product version. It was also mentioned that Workflows, although not yet supported, may assist with this issue.

Read the entire ‘Configuring Triggers for Secure Browse Analysis in ControlUp’ thread below:

Hi,

Is there a way to do a trigger that activates a SBA after 4 instances of a given eventlog entry within 2 minutes on the server machine.

The number of instances at timeframe is just an example

It is something that is possible with the endpoint agent, but cannot see how to do it within the VDI/DAAS environment

Hi @member, currently, CU4VDI does NOT support triggering a SBA based on X amount of events in a given timeframe. You would have to fire a script once we detect the relevant event, and implement logic in the script that will check how many times this event occurred in the last X minutes

There are two projects in the works to simplify that:

  1. Workflows – may already help here, but the product is improving on a weekly basis
  2. The new centralized Events feature – here we are gathering incidents / alerts from all modules and products. and we do plan to allow customers to configure advanced alerts based on this raw data, including X amount of events coming from VDI

Cc @member

@member Yes, the first phase of the project is in beta, which is the Events Management. In the future we would allow to turn an Incident based on a collection of Events, that is the plan.

Thank you for the swift reply

I believe that workflows does not yet support integration into the CU4VDI product

Will be looking into the event feature when we upgrade to the required product version.

@member If you want to play with the beta, we can enable the Event Management for you in beta, in the case on CU4VDI, the prerequisite is Monitor v9.1.5.
