A user was trying to connect to a SOP server but was receiving an error message. Permissions were enabled for ControlUp admins, but the user was not able to resolve the problem. Solutions proposed included recreating the JWT and deploying a new appliance, and the latter worked. A detailed explanation on generating a new JWT could be found in the Support documentation.

Hello everyone,
I’m trying to connect to a brand new SOP server but I give the user@domain and the password, I got an error message “https://my.sop.com/error?code=3”
The SOP is installed, configured on the COP server with the JWT keyfile, Use Solve and Manage Solve permissions are allowed for organization members and controlup admins (Security Policy), my account is declared in “controlup admins” (security settings).
I don’t guess what I missed. Any idea please ?
Thank you for your help.
it u enable the permisions in the policies
Yes I did.
dodn’t see anything aditional in the documentation
I would re-create the JWT and download again from SOP.
Monitor is working as expected?
Didn’t see anything else on my side too.. My network flows seem to be good : in the Console the monitors don’t report errors to contact Solve, TCP connections to Solve 443 is ok.. I can’t see what’s wrong.
@member how can I recreate the JWT ? I’m thinking to deploy the SOP ova from scratch..
Can I check connections from SOP by connecting as root ?
I have to check m notes next week. I’m on PTO.
The quick way will be to redeploy the appliance but AFAIR there is also a possibility to re-create the JWT on commandline.
hello, How Can I Generate a New JWT? -> https://support.controlup.com/docs/cop-87-security-enhancement-for-monitor-sop-communication
Thank you for the doc 👍
Perfect guys.
Hello, just to inform you it worked thanks to your advices :
- I deployed a brand new instance
- I fixed the bug with hyphen in the name
- I generated a new JWT token with the name fixed
- I configured it on the COP server
- Permissions were already defined, I could log with my administrative account.
Thank you very much for your help 👍
