Implementing Multi-Tenancy for Managed Service Providers in ControlUp

A user asked who had successfully implemented multi-tenancy as a managed service provider in order to replace LogicMonitor. It was suggested to open bidirectional port 40706 between each tenant and the user's data center, and to set up certificate-based authentication. The user was advised to use 'MSP mode' and use the cert to see the parent organisation. Links to documentation were provided.

Configuring ControlUp in Multi-Forest AD with Selective Authentication Two-Way Trust

A user wanted guidance on ControlUp in multi-forest AD with selective authentication two-way trust. The license is tied to the AD domain, as long as DNS resolution is available from the monitors and console, the AD forests don't matter. As the accounts will be migrated in phases, a trust needs to be set up in ControlUp. Further, the account team needs to be contacted to iron out any licensing issues. Health Checks for VMware UAGs Using Horizon and UAG APIs within ControlUp

A user asked for suggestions on what metrics to assess in a project to do better health checks on VMware UAGs using Horizon and UAG APIs. Ideas include alerting when a connection server exceeds a threshold, and when services are not in a running state, as well as low available memory and high CPU. These metrics would also be desirable to display in ControlUp's Solve and Console. Discussions also included Dennis' idea to bring the data to Edge DX and a feature request for UAG data.

How does ControlUp Agent Certificate Communication Work?

It was asked if a single certificate needs to be used across Real-Time Consoles, Monitors, and ControlUp Agents, with the Consoles and Monitors holding the private key while the public key is deployed to the Agents. Remediation can be automated for the agents with a GPO, and for the Console/Monitors with a supported PowerShell scripted provided by ControlUp. Finding Out About SSO Integration for ControlUp Products

A user asked about SSO integration with Solve and Insights, as well as the integration of Scout Bees and whether it is necessary to configure Solve and Insights separately with the IDP. The user was informed that Solve and Insight can be accessed via Solve, and that Insights will be ported over into Solve, with the data upload process and dependency on s3 being removed. An update is expected in about a week or two, and the user was advised to contact their CSM or sales team for more unofficial details.
