Improving Orchestration Capabilities: Suggestions for ControlUp’s Script and Alert Libraries

Posted on April 5, 2024

A user inquired about a data index in EDGE DX that would show the missing patch count per user/device. Another user suggests calculating this through external data manipulation. The graph on the Device Averages - Most Missing Patches view is calculated on the fly based on data in the builtin_missing_patches index. The first user wanted this information for an alert, which prompted suggestions for using the existing alert template library and providing feedback to improve orchestration capabilities. It was also suggested to create an alert library for easy import and customization. There are plans to improve scripting and alerting capabilities.

One of the HTTP\S scouts in Scoutbees is failing with an error related to SSL/TLS alerts. How to Select Multiple Pools in ControlUp for Reporting Purposes

Posted on April 3, 2024

Multiple users discussed the possibility of selecting multiple pools in the dropdown menu from the folder structure in the console for reporting purposes. While there is no current solution for this, there is a workaround by organizing pools into separate folders. However, the built-in sync script does not allow for customization of folder mappings, so this may not be a viable solution. There is a feature that allows for custom folder mapping in the Universal Sync script, but it may not work for all situations. Further discussion and resources can be found in the Slack channel.

Creating Triggers with ControlUp – A Discussion on Using “Super Triggers”

Posted on March 20, 2024

A team member asked if it was possible to create a trigger for logon duration exceeding a certain time. Another member suggested using average logon duration and getting creative with it. They discussed the idea of nested triggers and using "super triggers" as a workaround to count individual instances of logon duration and trigger an alert when a threshold is reached. The team will continue to look into this solution.
