A user was trying to run a PowerShell script in a script action, but was having issues due to an execution policy blocking the script. The user wanted to know if it was possible to bypass the group policy, to which it was suggested this would be seen as a security vulnerability by Microsoft. A workaround of setting the execution policy on the current user was suggested and seemed to work.

ControlUp Script: Measuring VM Start Time with Azure AVD
This script is designed to measure the time it takes for a VM to start and accept the first user connection when the containing host pool is set to "Start VM on connect". It can be used with an Azure resource ID and tenant ID, and requires credentials to be configured beforehand. The script works with Azure AVD and is hypervisor independent, but it is unknown if it works with an on-prem hypervisor like VMWare or with Azure HCI.

How can the login process be further optimized, considering the slowdown caused by system AppX Packages?
Suggestions were made to optimize the loginprocess and gain an even lower login time. Steps to audit process creation and termination were provided, along with many other settings related to the login process and the loading of AppX packages. How Can I Generate a Report for IOPS and/or Read/Write Latency for VMware Datastores?
A user asked how to get a report for iops and/or read/write latency for a VMware datastore. It was suggested to use the Host Trends report in ControlUp Insights/Solve or export schedules. A trigger with thresholds can also be used along with the exports or export-cuquery to indicate when the datastore is slow and report back. Host Stress showed latency of almost 1.3 sec. for read and writes.

Health Checks for VMware UAGs Using Horizon and UAG APIs within ControlUp
A user asked for suggestions on what metrics to assess in a project to do better health checks on VMware UAGs using Horizon and UAG APIs. Ideas include alerting when a connection server exceeds a threshold, and when services are not in a running state, as well as low available memory and high CPU. These metrics would also be desirable to display in ControlUp's Solve and Console. Discussions also included Dennis' idea to bring the data to Edge DX and a feature request for UAG data.

A user encountered an issue with RemoteDX where users were unable to reconnect to their disconnected Sessions on an RDS Farm and were stuck in "estimating connection quality". After uninstalling RemoteDX, the issue was solved when importing a Linux Load Balancer (HAProxy) Reg key. The user was thanked for this resolution and it was documented for reference. RemoteDX is not natively supported by RDS but is supported against Citrix/VMware Horizon/AVD. Documentation for RemoteDX can be found at https://support.controlup.com/docs/remote-dx-client-device-metrics.

Missing “Client Device Score” icon in ControlUp Solve?
Members discussed the issue of not seeing Client Device Score in ControlUp Solve, and why metrics like Client Wi-Fi Signal, Lan Latency, Total Session Latency, and Internet Latency indicate the score. They concluded that Remote DX must be installed on the endpoints and the registry values need to be deployed. Members also noted that 3rd party software can be tricky with virtual channels, and that the default MSTSC rdp client should be used. Support ticket can be created at support@controlup.com.
