How Can I Generate a Report for IOPS and/or Read/Write Latency for VMware Datastores?

Posted on April 20, 2023

A user asked how to get a report for iops and/or read/write latency for a VMware datastore. It was suggested to use the Host Trends report in ControlUp Insights/Solve or export schedules. A trigger with thresholds can also be used along with the exports or export-cuquery to indicate when the datastore is slow and report back. Host Stress showed latency of almost 1.3 sec. for read and writes.

Read the entire ‘Getting a Report for IOPS and Read/Write Latency in VMware Datastores’ thread below:

Does anyone know how to get a report for iops and/or read/write latency for a vmware datastores.

Host Trends report in Insights/Solve.

I need a specific datastore not the host.

Specific datastore will not be in the historical.

What is your end goal or need?

I think I have datastore overload issue based on a few factors. To prove it I need historical data to show the trend.

i think u will need to use export schedules

You could use triggers with threasholds to let you know when its slow and then report that back.

Host Stress got us to that point because of Latency being almost 1.3sec for read and writes.

You can also use the exports or export-cuquery.
