A user asked for help with login slowdowns and received suggestions to use CU4VDI trigger to run the ALD script, deploy ControlUp Disk Monitor, and run API queries to gather data. The AI Assistant or Claude/Gemini/ChatGPT can be used to correlate the data and determine the root cause of the issue. The ControlUp PS team is also available for assistance.

Wondering if control up would be able to help with the issue that we’re currently having
Unexplained login slowdowns a user could be logging in 15 times with 10 minute breaks between log off and log in to close out the open files to the network attached storage, One login could be 5 minutes the next login could be a minute but the next Logan after that could be another 8 minutes
Rvdi environment is hosted across 10 different hypervisor nodes
It is completely unexplainable we’ve been working on it for long period of time any assistance and how control can help us nail down with the issue is
Hey @member, a few things that can help:
- Configure a CU4VDI trigger that will run the ALD script automatically for any login that takes more than 60 seconds. you can save the output in a CU4D index or just use the Audit log to see the output. this can help with getting detailed logon analysis for each slow login
- Deploy the ControlUp Disk Monitor (https://support.controlup.com/docs/disk-monitor-overview) on all relevant RDSH servers. this will help getting a clear picture on all IO write activity happening during login
- Run some invoke-cuquery or other CU4VDI API query to get RDSH and hypervisor CPU / RAM / IO metrics during the relevant slow login times
After a few days, you should have:
- ALD script outputs for slow logins
- Disk Monitor logs covering all disk writes during slow logons
- CU4VDI metric outputs showing the Windows and Hypervisor CPU / RAM / IO metrics during logins
I would feed all that into our AI Assistant or into Claude / Gemini / ChatGPT and ask AI to correlate the data and help with the root cause
Our PS team can help as well
fell free to share the output here as well, we would love to help with analysis
