Users who do not have a CU4D license will encounter a license error when accessing the ALERT RULES tab, even though other areas like OVERVIEW and EVENT DETAILS function normally. This is because the ALERT RULES feature is directly tied to CU4D licensing and capabilities.
The ALERT RULES in ControlUp One covers alerting for CU4D, ControlUp for VDI (CU4VDI), and Synthetic Monitoring; however, the creation and management of alert rules within this tab are exclusive to CU4D. For alerting related to ControlUp for VDI and Synthetic Monitoring, users must configure those alerts within their respective products. Once alerts are configured in each solution, they will be aggregated and displayed together in ControlUp One for centralized monitoring.

In ControlUp One>EVENTS tab on the left. is ALERT RULES specifically for ControlUp for Desktops? I get a license error on the tab but OVERVIEW and EVENT DETAILS work.
looks like ALERTS is for CU for Desktops, Scouts and Real Time Console alerts.??
CU AI told me the ALERT RULES is specific to CU for Desktops which explains the lic error, since this org does not have CU for desktops.
It is for CU4D, CU4VDI and Synthetic monitoring.

Yes thats correct. you can only create an alert rule here for CU4D. to setup alerts for synthetic and vdi you have to go to those products to create the alert. then they will all show up together.
