A user asked about a potential feature in Remote DX related to Bluetooth signal strength and headsets, as it can be a big issue for Unified Communications and VoIP through VDI. Another user suggested suggesting it on user voice. Additionally, the user mentioned they have played around with an audio devices script for Edge DX in the past. After researching, it seems difficult to implement due to driver specificity and limitations in the Windows BT stack.

Any chance Remote DX will be implementing anything around Bluetooth signal strength like you already do for WiFi? Would really be helpful for troubleshooting Bluetooth Headsets better. Currently there is no way to know what type of headset device is plugged in and in use on BYOD devices for example.
Have not heard about that idea. What would be the use case?
I edited my question with more detail. Headsets.
Unified Communications, VoIP through VDI for example, headsets become a major quality issue.
Interesting idea. Suggest you put it in user voice to see if there’s mind share for it. I’ve played around with UCC audio devices and BT drivers on the Edge DX side, but had not considered BT signal strength. Guess it hasn’t come to mind since I’m always close to my computer. But I can see how that isn’t always the case
Thanks, will do. Another thing it will do, beside just signal strength, is help identify if user is utilizing a bluetooth headset device vs hardwired. Which is a big deal in some scenarios with BYOD.
Are you using teams?
We played around with an audio devices script for Edge DX before. Might have discussed it in the #controlup-edge-dx channel
Did some reading up on BT signal quality/strength and it seems that this much harder than it might appear, mostly due to this seemingly being very driver specific and the fairly limited implementation in the Windows BT stack.
