Improving App Identification in ControlUp VDI with Expanded Streaming API

A user was having difficulty identifying a CPU-heavy app in their VDI. They realized that the App Trends report was showing an average, which was being skewed by multiple instances of the same app with only one of them using significant CPU. To address this, ControlUp is expanding their VDI Streaming REST API to allow for pulling process data with filters. Users can contact their CSM/TSM or open a support ticket for assistance.

Updates on ControlUp for Apps and Licensing Options

They can either wait or contact their account team to manually start the trial. To purchase this feature, customers must have either a Platform license or purchase the add-on option, with the license count matching their current licenses. Troubleshooting Agents Showing Error State – ControlUp Discussion

The discussion revolves around troubleshooting why agents show an error state in the web console every morning, despite being installed on nonpersistent machines with the ONLYSTARTONBOOT and REGISTERBYMACHINENAME options. When looking into the event viewer, an agent was discovered to have started offline with Event ID 98. A member suggests that the terms being used refer to the physical device agent/product, while the .NET console and auto connect are for the virtual/vdi agent/product, prompting a clarification about the intended use of the agents. The end goal is to utilize the reporting within the VDI portion. Assistance is offered to the user if needed.

Troubleshooting VDI Access in ControlUp One

There was a discussion on an issue with accessing VDI in ControlUp One after disabling certain log in method. It was suggested to check permissions and add DEX user to Controlup admins. Another option is to enable the "sign in to VDI... with LDAP" checkbox. Possible solution is detailed in the article https://support.controlup.com/docs/vdi-daas-authentication-methods. Suggestions were given to check C:\windows\ServiceProfiles\NetworkService\AppData\Roaming\ControlUp\cuMonitor.log for monitor name that handled the request.

Finding App Launch Instances on Endpoints with ControlUp API
