A user had questions about the changes in product management – events are now in the web and no longer in RTC, but the alert rules are currently only available for the Desktops product. The user also asked if the action library will be fully functional in the web at some point. ControlUp explained that support for VDI is coming and told the user that the Action library (Script-based Actions) is already available in the web UI, with the goal to eventually move all functionality to the platform.

forgive me for being dense as i migrate my way from my beloved RTC into the clodu console…so we only use VDI nothing endpoint. Events are now in web and gone from RTC. but when i goto "alert rules" theres nothing there for VDI. right?
so this isnt a lift and shift its a piece by piece so i have to still go back and forth between RTC and web to do my work? like, to view triggers, stress settings, etc?
Correct
this is very confusing you took part of my product into the web but left me without a way to manage that piece
unless I am missing something very basic.
Alert Rules are currently available only for the Desktops product. Support for VDI is coming next — we’ll enable customers to configure triggers (just like in the console) directly from the web UI
Incidents should be consumed from the Events dashboard – it includes the VDI incidents
ok so i just have to be split personality for a while 🙂 will the action library be fully function in web at some point? and what do i really call this. Its not solve anymore right?
No, it’s not called "Solve" anymore – it’s not called "VDI". Behind the scenes, we will utilize the backend services for Solve, but this is another topic
Smart-x !
The Action library (the Script-based Actions) are already available in the Web UI. Adding scripts though still needs to be done from the legacy console. But also this will move to the web UI
Smart-X forever. Yea the scripts are there but you cant do anythign with them is what i meant. edit, draft, etc.
not yet, the goal is to move all functionality to the platform, so that one day, you will no longer need to use the legacy console
and children will weep.
