Installing ControlUp Edge DX on Non-Persistent VDI Images

A user was having difficulty finding documentation on installing ControlUp Edge DX onto a non-persistent VDI base image. The solution is to add the ONLYSTARTONBOOT=1 argument and to register machines by name in the agent settings within the tenant. Casing is important. The full command is: msiexec /i agentmanagersetup.msi /qn DEVREGCODE=(SampleCode) TENANT=(TenantName).sip.controlup.com ONLYSTARTONBOOT=1 REGISTERWITHNAME=1.

ControlUp Script Batch Release – June 25, 2023

ControlUp's new script batch features four categories, with the focus of this blog post on scripting using new CUActions APIs. This includes 'List Available CUActions', 'Power On Generic VM', 'Force Power Off Generic VM', and 'Logoff Disconnected Sessions'. The post details how to write and use these scripts, including techniques for loading the appropriate DLL, identifying and invoking the correct CUAction, and querying the monitor table. The 'Logoff Disconnected Sessions' script, for instance, fetches data in chunks and logs off all disconnected sessions for a selected user.

Problems Identifying Data in ControlUp RealTime Console

A user was experiencing discrepancies in the data displayed by the ControlUp RealTime console. It wasn't showing all user sessions and metrics on the top nav bar were not reflecting changes made to filtered views. A user installed ControlUp package on a Dell Wyse Thin Client with ThinOS 2211, but they are not seeing any Remote DX activity. Suggestions from ControlUp were to check with specific items found at https://support.controlup.com/docs/remote-dx-known-issues. After rebooting the Thin Client, Landon suggested something needed to go into the module.ini of the Citrix client on the endpoint.
